It’s been three weeks since I shared my cross stitch with you (how? Time is moving too fast!)
I’ve been on holiday so I didn’t think I’d have much progress to share with you but I did rather strategicly decide to do the small gold lettering so it LOOKS like I did lots!
Here’s where my latin quote was last time out…

Some of you guessed the quote right last time and some of you were just slightly off. The quote will read Veni, Vidi, Amavi. I came, I saw, I loved. A little bit of a twist on the more familiar I came, I saw, I conquered.
This time, as I said, I started on the little gold letters…

I’m not sure how clear the little letters are but I’m really liking the gold against black fabric. Hopefully next time I’ll have a little more to share with you but everything is up in the air here at the moment so who knows!

Black is so hard to stitch on and you have done great. The gold looks really good.

Thank you. I’m not finding it that hard. It’s harder to find time to stitch right now!

I love the contrast between size & colour!

Thank you! I’m glad. There isn’t that much interest in this pattern so the two colours and two sizes had to carry the whole thing!

Is that gold thread? If so I know it isn’t the easiest to work with so well done!

It is but it’s not the usual dmc metallic thread. I’m using kreinik gold braid. I got a lot of practice using it on my last project and it’s not as bad as I feared! And it looks amazing which is always a plus!

Thanks. I came, I saw, I loved is rather happier and warmer a quote than I came, I saw, I conquered. Don’t you think?!

like the gold its really makes it pop.

Thanks. It is really stunning against the black. I was worried the black wouldn’t pop without any bold colours on it but I think the gold works

I hope so! I was worried when it was just the white that it wouldn’t look as striking as I’d hoped but now the gold is in I think it definitely helps!

Oh, I love your twist on the more familiar phrase! I think the touch of gold is perfect. 🙂

Thank you! The original phrase is strong but there’s something a bit happier about this one!

Thank you! I’m so glad the gold looks good because I was a bit worried about the finish when it was just the white
