It’s that time again where I share the progress I’ve made on my cross stitch project.
Here’s where it was last time when I’d just started:

And here is where I am now:

Not a lot of stitching but because it’s such a simple design it looks like progress haha. You have a full word now. Anyone want to guess what quote I’m stitching?

so impressive on black!
I’m guessing Vini Vidi but from the peak at the chart, you’ve altered the rest lol

Hehe I have. It’s still a decently well known quote though

Looks beautiful, love the black aida. I’m afraid my latin skills are non existent so I won’t embarrass myself with a guess as to what you are stitching!

Girl #2 would have a guess, but not me! How do you like stitching in the black? eyes, I ,

Is it hard on your eyes?

I’m not finding it too bad. I think because it’s 18 count I can see pinpricks of light where the holes are which helps a lot. It’s definitely not something I’d do on linen/higher count fabric!

I love the contrast between the white thread and the black fabric. Congratulations on the word finish!
https://stitchingirlblog.wordpress.com/ this is my personal blog. I seem to be challenged and cannot find a way to change the one for posting from my work blog. I’m sorry!

Thank you. I’m finding the white on black a little boring to stitch (wish there were some bright colours!) but it is going to be very bold

Looks great. I bet it is harder working on the black fabric. Well worth it though.

It’s only a little bit harder as the count is still low enough to see the holes well enough

Love the contrast!

Loving the contrast – but might need a few more latin lessons!

Hehe. Don’t tell anyone but when I made the pattern my dad had to correct it! So I need some Latin lessons too!

Thank you for the welcome! Hubby thinks your lovely stitching will spell that saying, I came, I saw, I conquered. Back in his day they took Latin in school. Can you imagine!

Haha my dad took Latin in school too. As for the quote he’s very close but not quite!

Kate beat me to the quote I had in mind. 😉 White on black is so dramatic; this will be gorgeous.

Thanks. It does look classy. I have to keep reminding myself that because it’s a little boring to stitch!

This is going to look fantastic! I know stitching on black can be a pain, but what a great effect!

Thanks. I’m not finding it that difficult because it’s a relatively high count Aida

The only latin I know is veni, vidi, vici 🙂 and I think it means he came, he saw, he conquered. Am I right or not?

You’re very close! The veni, vidi bit is correct but not the last one.

Kate beat me to it there. I also had compulsory latin at school, but it was a long time ago LOL
