The Move – Goodbye Guernsey

The move has crept up on me. I can’t believe we’ve lived in Guernsey for three years. It feels like it wasn’t long ago that my parents made the decision to move here temporarily and now we’re leaving. The first photo we took when we moved into our flat here:

I’ve loved my time here even though I have rarely left the flat! It’s been a lovely change and I’ve enjoyed being able to go outside easily, have bbqs and the meals out that I’ve had with family. Having a restaurant less than two minute wheelchair ride away had been awesome. My health has improved too, being able to do little things easily has made a huge difference. It’s going to be a massive change going back to living upstairs in our old house. But I do hope that I might manage to make it down the stairs once or twice a month. Maybe.

There’s only two weeks left here until its all go, and then I’m flying home, the removals company will have all of my things (as well as my laptop). I’ve been trying to sort through things a little a day and thankfully my dad is sorting almost everything out so it shouldn’t be too stressful for me.

But one thing the move does mean is that I will be queuing quite a few posts over the next few weeks (did I mention lack of laptop?). I should still be able to comment and read posts though as I normally do that on my mobile anyway and we aren’t turning the internet off until we go.

Wish me luck and while I’m not looking forward to winter in the old house or the stairs I am looking forward to what the next steps are going to be.

  1. gosh has it been 3 years already? I remember when you were packing up to move out to Guernesey. Didn’t realise it was only temporary and that you’d be going back “home” after 3 years.
Hope everything goes smoothly, and I bet it’ll feel wierd being back in your old house ^^

  2. I have just started on my moving plans. I haven’t put my house on the market yet. But, I am looking forward to the challenge. Best of luck with your new adventures.
