I have a finish! My camel stitch cowl using one Caron cake. Ta Da!
One Caron cake = one snug double wrap cowl
So obviously, as I mentioned it’s a caron cake which is aran yarn. I went a couple of hook sizes up from what was recommended because camel stitch is quite a dense stitch. I used a 7.00mm hook and I chained 175 stitches to start and joined. It’s large enough to wrap double and lovely and snug and warm. I managed 25 rows of the half double crochet camel stitch and it’s the perfect size. (My tutorial for how to do the camel stitch the easy way is here).
Also the wrong side looks as nice as the right side which is always nice. Here’s the ‘right side’ which is knit look and then the ‘wrong side’.
And also, here’s some zoomed in pics of those knit look stitches on the right side too because it looks pretty.
Mum says its her Christmas present but I mean really, she’s totally going to end up using it before then.
Now I have these two balls of dk to use next. I’m thinking hats…..
What have you been crocheting lately? Also do you have a favourite yarn? The Caron cake was lovely and soft and bouncy and I really liked not having to change colours because I hate weaving ends. So if you have a favourite colour changing yarn then please do tell.
