This is my last post before Christmas and I just wanted to say to all of my followers:
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Whether you celebrate it or not, I hope you all have a lovely day. We have a very quiet Christmas planned. Just my parents and me. Lots of yummy food to be eaten and a good film to watch together in the evening. So whether you’re really busy or just curled up watching Christmas telly, here’s to having a nice day.
I tend to stretch Christmas out over the course of December. There’s only so many spoons I can use at once. So presents get wrapped and cards get made early. The (massive) tree and decorations go up at the start of the month. The pretty lights and Christmas tree smell make me smile everyday. As do opening any Christmas cards I get. Getting a card in the post makes my day and then they go up on my pin board, surrounded by tinsel and lights and they make me smile when I see them everyday after that too.
My brother flew out to see us on the 16th for the weekend so we ended up opening some presents early and having Christmas dinner only with a chicken instead of a turkey. We also went out for dinner on one night as well which was also really nice. I had an amazing chocolate brownie (I’m normally really fussy about brownies as my brother pointed out at the time but this one was heaven).
How are you spending Christmas day? Any presents your looking forward to or films/tv shows you’re excited to watch? And of course, what food are you looking forward to scoffing? Christmas dinner not withstanding, my terrys chocolate orange, jam tarts and chocolate biscuits will all make sure I’m almost constantly full!
I don’t mean to sound like the Grinch or anything, but this Christmas is not going to be a good one for me. I’m always chronically ill, but to add fuel to the fire, I came down with Shingles about 10 days ago. Other than the very painful rash and blister’s, it makes you feel like you also have the flu. So, I will be spending Christmas by myself, while my family joins my mom and my siblings and their families on Christmas Eve. We’ve always spent Christmas Eve that way and then Christmas day, we’ve always stayed home and just enjoyed the day with our own kids. No, not looking forward to any food. I have Gastroparesis and a feeding tube………..yes, it gets worse. lol lol but, I’ll leave you with that. I don’t have any gifts wrapped yet……….So, I am sounding really Grinchy, but deep down, I really am not……it’s just this one Christmas that must be different because I’m sick. It is what it is. I’ll survive. I hope you enjoy the day with your parents and eat lots of yummy food til your stomach hurts……….watch some good tv or movies, etc……that’s what we do on holidays, or should I say that’s what I used to do before getting sick. Holidays are the few days of the year when we can over indulge and not have to feel guilty about it. Beautiful Christmas tree, by the way. Merry Christmas to you and your family and a Happy New Year! Take care. 🙂

Oh no. You definitely have a right to feel grinchy this year! Shingles is horrible. I’m sorry.
Will you be able to watch any good movie in bed maybe? I know I end up curling up with Disney or Harry Potter when I’m feeling horrible. X

Thank you….I’m glad it’s over. I’ve just been curled up in bed, in the dark, by myself, feeling like total crap. I hope you had a good Christmas or Hanakkah or whatever you do or don’t celebrate…….Take care.
